When and where will the Metro Atlanta 911 Remembrance events take place?
Sandy Springs Fire Rescue firefighters will pause to pay tribute to those firefighters who lost their lives performing deeds of heroism during the terrorist attacks in 2001. All available firefighters will be standing directly in front of the fire stations at 8:43 a.m. with one firefighter at the watch desk. At 8:45 a.m. all radio traffic will be stopped and any calls that need to be dispatched will be done by phone to the specific fire station watch desk. The city will fly flags at half staff all day in recognition of Patriots Day. At 08:45:45 hours, the ChatComm Fire Dispatcher will do a manual alert tone and give the following message: All units please hold non-emergency traffic.
