When And Where Is This Years Bexley Family History Fair?
The eighth Bexley Local and Family History Fair will take place at Hall Place in Bourne Road, Bexley on Saturday 11 March. If you are interested in local or family history and live locally, this would be a good way to spend a couple of hours. Admission is free. Visitors will be able to get advice on researching their family and house histories, see demonstrations of genealogical websites and software and browse the book stands. The Bexley Local Studies and Archive Centre is arranging the fair together with the Bexley Heritage Trust and the event will kick off at 10 in the morning after a short opening ceremony performed by the Mayor, John Shepheard. It will close at 4pm. This year’s fair will have a Victorian theme. Most people starting out in family history concentrate on the Victorian period as the records – census, birth, marriage and death certificates – are so rich.
