When and where is Dance Parade NYC 2009 held?”
After gathering between 27th and 28th between Broadway and Sixth Avenue, The Parade will kick off at 1pm. Then we will boogie our way down Broadway, hula, swing and irish step our way past Union Square and into University Place. At Eighth Street we will Salsa, Tango and Waltz East into Saint Marks Street. Our House, Techno and Disco floats will have afternoon shoppers wigglin as they watch us get down in the heart of the East Village. A straight shot from there brings us to DanceFest in Tompkins Square Park.
2009 is a record year! For the first time in history 60 styles of dance will parade down Broadway for this years Dance Parade NYC. The Parade and Festival are chocked-full of sun-kissed dancers, from a busload of dancers from Kansas City to astounding ariel dance in Tompkins Square Park. Rain or shine the parade begins at 1p down Broadway from 27th, through Union Square, south onto University Place, east onto St. Marks (8th St.) into Tompkins Square Park for DanceFest! Free family fun! Experience dance all afternoon with dance performances on the main stage, site-specific performances throughout the park, dance Lessons, and outdoor dancing everywhere! Going on its third year in the Dance Parade, one float that will definitely stand out will be that of New York City’s biggest nightclub, Pacha NYC.
