When and how did the world magazine “The Economist” begin and what are most of its articles about?
Probably the best thing for you to do would be to either buy a copy and find out yourself, or go to their website www.economist.com and try a few of their articles. Technically, they are a newspaper not a magazine. For their history and background, use the wikipedia article on them (in fact, for almost everything, use the wikipedia article on it). The Economist helps people almost not at all in ‘investing in different things’, as this is not its focus. As it is a newspaper it simply reports news from all around the world, on all manner of subjects – although unlike most newspapers it also offers its own (sometimes very in-depth) analysis of the issues. The only way it could help you in investing (i presume you mean buying stocks and shares) is that it reports a lot of business news (the news in brief section at the start of the issue has a few pages of single paragraph news bites, on business and politics) so if you keep ahead with these you might get indicators on how companies’ share
