When and how did Rothstein Kass get started with hedge funds administration?
Rothstein Kass has been providing audit and tax services since 1959. In the late 1980s, we began providing back office accounting services to U.S. and international funds, (P&L, trade activity income and expense reporting, etc). This marked Rothstein Kass entry into the administration business. Rothstein Kass continued to focus much of its energies on growing its administration practice. The firm invested in technology and skilled personnel to develop a highly specialized group with expertise in the securities industry and more specifically, alternative investments. To further specialization and distinguish the firms administration capabilities, Rothstein Kass formed its affiliate, RK Consulting, in 2000 to provide a full range of fund administration services.
