When (after hospital admission) should investigators access the online PediBIRN data registry to enter new data regarding an eligible subject?
Form 1 should be completed ASAP after hospital admission. Forms 2 and 4 should be completed 3 to 5 days after hospital admission (if hospital discharge or death has not yet occurred) when more complete clinical and radiological data has become available. Form 3 should be completed at or near the time of hospital admission or initial child abuse consultation. Data capture and online data entry after hospital discharge is acceptable, but suboptimal.
