When Aetrex started evolving into a different company, were there family conflicts?
It is unusual to see a third-generation company embrace change like that. We’re lucky. All four of us get along great. For a long time, the commitment has been to build something unique and grow the business. We never had a short-term focus. If we had a good year, it was never ‘OK, let’s take money out of the business.’ It was always ‘OK, let’s put it back in the business.’ That’s something my dad was great with. He also was willing to let me and my brothers take a lot of chances. Exec Access appears every Sunday.
