Yes, whenever a User/Member is demoted, s2Member resets their account back to a Free Subscriber. Any Custom Capabilities the User/Member had – will be removed; as they should be.

Yes, whenever a User/Member is demoted, s2Member resets their account back to a Free Subscriber. Any Custom Capabilities the User/Member had – will be removed; as they should be. That being said, starting with s2Member v3.5+, it is now possible to start your list of Custom Capabilities with a + sign. This tells s2Member to (ADD) a comma-delimited list of new Custom Capabilities to any that may or may not already exist for a given Member.
