When a licenced contractor installs a new system or works on an existing system, what should I know about the system when the job is complete?
You should know the location of the septic tank and disposal field for future maintenance and to avoid driving over it. The contractor must supply you with a Compliance Certificate which certifies that the work covered by the permit has been completed and complies with all the requirements of the P.E.I. Environmental Protection Act Sewage Disposal Regulations. The job is not complete until you have the Compliance Certificate from the Contractor.
