They might just have a key to your car. All it takes to get one is the VIN and a dealer employee friend to cut it. To get around the security is easy too, you find out the passkey resistance from the VIN and bypass the switch with the right resistor(the same ones the installer would use to put a remote start on your car), and then slide hammer the key cylinder or cut and push the ignition switch rod in the column. The dealer you bought that vehicle from, if you did from a dealer, still has a set of keys to it as well. You just never know in today’s world. GM’s are easy to steal the security is kind of a joke. Someone leaves a car at my shop and takes the keys with them. If I can’t get ahold of the owner to get keys, I call the dealer and get a set DELIVERED. Think how easy that is.
