Whats your personal opinion on Texas v. Johnson and the desecration of the American flag?

While I will never burn an American flag, I don’t think one should get punished for doing so. The flag is, ultimately, just a symbol to many, and just a piece of cloth to others. Either way, burning a flag doesn’t cause any physical harm to anyone. To me, it is not a sacred object, and it has been taken way too seriously throughout history in the name of patriotism. Anyone who disagrees with this should be reminded that the right to burn flags is protected under the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. The Supreme Court had to interpret what the Constitution meant, and in my opinion, they voted the correct way.
