Whats Wyandotte Countys biggest challenge?
I think the biggest challenge is to take the positive growth dynamic that we have mostly in the western part of our community and make sure that we’re able to spread that growth to all other parts of the county, and also as we grow to address those needs and issues that all of our neighborhoods face with respect to public safety and infrastructure and bringing new retail opportunities to all parts of the community. What experiences have most prepared you for this position? Two things I think have really helped me besides my legal background: No. 1, I was involved in several nonprofit community development corporations before I became an elected official and served on those boards, Neighborhood Housing Services and Catholic Housing for Wyandotte County.
