The Asahi and Takumar lenses they produced long time ago are still in demand in the second-hand market. All lenses they produced for their 35mm film SLRs can be used in their present dSLR line-up. Their lens coating is one of the best in the industry. They’re not cutting-edge. They only put features that really matter in photography. They make simple but robust cameras that last forever. The Spotmatic is revered as the ultimate Beginner’s Camera. The LX still catches attention in second-hand stores and auctions due to its accurate metering. Up to now, their dSLRs remain small like the MX was during its time but performs at par if not better than a similar spec’d model in other brands.
