Whats wrong with my guinea pigs nose?
It sounds like you may be dealing with a fungal infection. Fungal infections often start on the face and spread to other parts of the body. Oftentimes, the fungus will get a crusty, dirt-like scab on top that hair can become stuck in. Check out the link below to see if the photos of fungal infections look like what is going on with your guinea pig. You can treat the infection topically at home with Monistat 7 or Femizol-M creams (miconazole creams), which can be purchased over the counter. Just dab on affected area once per day. Do not pick off the scab- it will just further irritate the infection. If topical treatment does not help, return to the vet. There are prescription treatments that can help as well. Best of luck! Hope your piggy feels better soon!
