Many golfers (mainly males) often justify a new set of golf clubs by enticing their wife or girl friend to learn the game of golf. The intention is to supply the partner with the old set while they purchase a new set. Another “trick” is to look for a set for the partner at a garage sale. WRONG!!! The only thing worse would be for the golfer to teach the partner! Men’s clubs are generally longer, heavier and have grips larger than those which a woman would use. If the increased length, weight and grip size are combined with the stronger lofts of older clubs, the partner will not enjoy the game. She will generally become frustrated and not enjoy the experience. In many cases, she will quit! Women should be fitted properly when they are beginning the game.
