Drinking water containers seem like a great idea. Once you realize that you don’t feel safe drinking tap water, you will want to make sure you have pure drinking water with you wherever you go. So it makes sense to bring your own drinking water along with you. There are a few problems, though. First, where is that pure water going to come from? You may start out by buying bottled drinking water from the store, only to realize that this is not only going to fill up all the landfills, but also break your checkbook. Sure the bottles can be recycled, but recycling plastic is a downward spiral in quality. Every time plastic is recycled, the quality decreases a little until eventually it can’t be recycled anymore and it winds up in a landfill.
