Whats wrong with Asheville having an arena downtown?
• The current location has serious issues with parking, access, and safety. • The current arenas renovation proposal was as low as $25 million (just to repair the building), to as much as $80-115 million to do everything that is needed to make it work. • Such a renovation would LOWER capacity. • Such a renovation could cost more than the much newer $62 million Bi-Lo Center, which has far more seats. • Arts community has a proposal to convert the arena to a top-notch performing arts center.
