Whats with the spotlight with Haiti?
People from other countries got killed or injured in Haiti.Thousands of americans died,some canadians died and over thousand canadians are still missing, and many people from other countries died.Allot of people from other countries were in haiti helping before the earth quake.Almost the whole world have lost people because of this earth quake.I should say that the whole world is affected by this Earthquake. Sad that looters are being killed by any people in Haiti now.I think about 3 people got killed so far. Yah they have all the attention now but they do need it.I hope that the countries you mention gets help too. I was surprise to hear that people all over the world likes to visit or help Haiti.This earthquake help me to know the troubles in Haiti.
None of those countries potentially lost 1/10 of their population. Its possible that anywhere from one in twenty to one in ten haitians died in the span of one week. Haiti has no government, no army, and no effective police. To put it into perspective, anywhere between 50 million and 100 million Indians would have to die instantly, and Calcutta, Mumbai and New Dehli would all have to be blown to ashes for India’s problems to be even remotely close to the problems Haiti is facing right now. India has the means to feed its own people and take care of itself, its problems are a result of internal corruption and class discrimination, and those are problems that only Indians can solve. We can do what we can to help the poor, but unless the Indian élite starts to make education and employment more available to all its people, India will always have poor people. India has more doctors than any other country in the world. Same with Pakistan, their problems are political and only THEY can solve
