Whats with the fosse septique then?

0

Ah yes, the infamous fosse septique! We do our best to inflict as few regulations as we can on our guests, but a misbehaving septic tank will very much take the edge off your enjoyment of your holiday. So we do insist that only digestible items are flushed down the toilets – anything else* needs to be securely bagged and tied, whereafter we’ll dispose of it for you. Note that British loo paper is not suitable for use here – we’ll supply you with a few rolls of French paper at the start of your holiday so please don’t bring any rolls from the UK. You may see one of us busily flushing a concoction down a toilet sometime: this is a culture of friendly bacteria and yeasts that digest the contents of the tank – we sometimes need to use extra amounts of culture if for instance, someone is taking antibiotics. *Yes, you’re quite right, this does mean any baby and sanitary items, and anything plastic!
