On Febuary 8th, President Clinton signed into law the Telecommunications Bill which contains the Communications Decency Act. The CDA limits free speech on the Internet. In the Net tradition of cooperation, the Citizens Internet Empowerment Coalition and numerous other plaintaiffs are trying to overturn the CDA on the grounds that it violates the First Amendment rights of Internet users.
