Whats with all the rounding off?
Fermi math is based on estimation for quick solution. We are trying to help kids see that there are time when a “ballpark” solution is helpful. Enrico Fermi, the physicist, was legendary for doing math in his head and on the back of envelopes. He is our hero. Estimation (and seeing reasonable, possible answers) is a life-skill, and one of the most needed areas of practice for kids. Round off early and often!
