Whats up with that Bay News 9 video that the exotic cat breeders and dealers post on the web?
Big Cat Rescue was reported favorably in the news 496 times from 1996 until the end of 2008. Since the first story in 1996 the sanctuary has been in the press 500 times and all but four of those were positive stories. The 4 negative stories were not based on fact, but rather on gossip and innuendo. Three of the four were trying to make something of nothing in regards to the disappearance of the co-founder. He left the grounds one day in 1997 and never returned. The reporters who ran with these negative stories were trying to make a name for themselves by saying something bad about a beloved sanctuary and were not interested in reporting facts. We have always been truthful and transparent in our dealings and our history has always been a part of this website. The reason our detractors use the Bay News 9 story is because they cannot make a good argument for why people should be allowed to have tigers in their back yard, so this becomes the only way they can try to discredit Carole Baskin
