Whats UK law regarding offensive and threatening emails on facebook?
ok threats by e-mail can be taken as a threat as if it was in person, it can be a bit tricky to say what or how the police would react and we would say please think before you get them involved as they can cause more problems than they solve. as for what is in a threat, well it depends on what the nature of the language is, and what it pertains to, if someone is using very openly words that are designed to cause significant harm that may be taken as deliberate, as if its just banter or in bad taste it would be difficult to say what actions you could take. it may be simpler to change the face book address or simply find a new account under a different name since if you use the same name then the problem may of course continue. as for UK law we would say again have a think if you want the Police and all the rest of it, poking their sticky fingers into your computer, as you may have to give away your right to privacy which would mean a permanent record of your details computer UUID and se
