Yes, there’s always some miscreant who is capable of doing stuff like this. This is another good reason to limit the view of your infrared sensors to the plane the infrared beacons are radiating in. BTW, I know the FIRST engineering team has anticipated this potential problem and will have crafted a way to find people doing this.
