Whats there to do on Catalina Island in California? Is it worth going there on a day trip?
Catalina is a fun place that’s absolutely worth a visit. If you’re a Southern Calif resident, looking for a great weekend getaway or midweek escape, Catalina should be on your list of “Top Three” escape choices since it’s so very close (just 26 miles from the mainland) and can be as active or relaxing a vacation as you want to make it out to be. There’s shopping and dining, parasailing, golfing, horseback riding, snorkling, even camping. If you want a romantic spot for an anniversary, wedding, etc, Catalina is a perfect spot for that too. I always like to rent a cart and explore the island. The usually rent a golf cart from Island Rentals on Pebbly Beach road, now. I’ve tried a couple places. But Island Rentals seems to maintain their carts best and they seem to have more power than other carts, when going uphill.
