Whats there to do in Olympia, Washington?
The Spur is a great restaurant. There are a few micro-breweries with restaurants – there is a great sea-food restaurant overlooking the sound. The Olympia Film Society is an independent movie theatre that occasionally has really cool film festivals. The Puget Sound comes to its southern end at Olympia – I’ve seen otters playing and once saw whales in the Sound. There are a few great hiking spots close to town, wooded and open. Evergreen College is unbelievable – you should give serious thought to going there. You’re also closely surrounded by the towns of Lacy and Tumwater – the public bus system through and between the towns is first-class. There are coffee roasters that give good tours. The local music scene is phenomenal. There is much to do – and it isn’t hard to find it. I live in Indiana now, if I were in a position to move, Olympia would be the top of my list, I’d love to go back there.
