Whats the Writing Sample Placement Test?
A 95-minute essay test. You must write a 400/500-word essay in response to 1 of 2 “should,” “would,” or “could” questions derived from 3 topic areas: Basic Human Rights, Television, and Education. The essay should have an introduction, a body of paragraphs supporting the thesis statement, and a conclusion. The test score will determine which English course you’re eligible to register for at Preview. The WSPT is administered online on Blackboard. Do I have to take the WSPT? Yes. Every incoming student must take it, regardless of transfer credits. There are no exceptions.
