Whats the worst experience you ever had on a family vacations?
Looking at family travel blogs on the internet, a reader sees a lot of “best vacations with children” types of articles and posts. But they can’t all be the best, can they? And – what about some bad family travel experiences – they happen, to be honest. What about when bad vacations happen to good people? The worst family vacation I’ve had as a parent was quite a while ago, when my daughters were 6 months old and almost 3 years old. It sounded good on paper: My parents were renting a condo in Puerto Rico (they found a good deal), and my brother-in-law was coming along too. Instant built-in babysitting! Who’d look at that cock-eyed? I didn’t hesitate, and the Mudslide family looked forward to this family vacation in Puerto Rico with no skepticism. And…we learned our lesson. The reason the condo rental was so cheap was because it was rainy season in the Caribbean. Of course! It rained every single day. Every single day, that is, except for the one I spent with my older daughter in a Puer
This Place Was Soooo Bad! A personal story in the experience: I Want to Know Your Worst Vacation Nightmare I f you lived in the NY/NJ/CT area in the late 70s and 80s you are probably familiar with the Poconos Mts of PA as a vacation destination. One of the resorts had an advert that ran on the TV constantly during the 80s with a catchy little jingle–‘Bea….u….ti…..ful Mt. Air….ry Lodge! I looked fabulous! All members of my family that traveled with me were of age, being that we were going to the Casino for the weekend. Its not a vacation per say but the nonetheless it was a vacation away from the norm. The first day we arrived we checked into a lovely hotel, so we thought. The first night was lovely. We gambled, went out to eat, and gambled some more. After spending the whole day out we decide to call it a night. My husband and I of course had our own room. We slept the night away and arose to the most stomach churning happening. It seems that when the weather gets hot and muggy in that part of Mississippi the ladybugs come out in abundance. I awoke first and didn’t notice the ladybugs until one fell from the ceiling onto my forehead. I immediately started to scream and noticed that there were clusters of ladybugs in each corner of the ceilings. I immediately started packing my thing
