That is really anyone’s guess given the rather odd weather that seems to be occuring recently. Generally speaking the climate of the Blue Mountains is more temperate than the Sydney region. As a rule of thumb you can knock 2°C off the Sydney temperature for every 300 metres increase in altitude (we’re around 900 metres ASL here so around a 6-7°C drop). During the winter months (June, July, August), the average temperature in the Upper Mountains is around the 5°C mark, while in summer (December, January, February) the average temperature sit around around 18°C. Bear in mind these are averages though – based on Bureau of Meteorology stats there have been recorded temperatures over 35°C and as low as -8°C !
The days are generally warm (mid 60’s to mid 70’s) and the nights our cool (low 50’s). Our lodge is open to the south so it’s best to come with a warm jacket and a couple of sweatshirts for layering in the morning and evening. If we’re lucky we get rain at least a couple of times a session and activities don’t generally stop when it does. So you should have rain gear.
