Whats the weather like when traveling to Barbados?
Barbados is the eastern most island of the Caribbean, situated in the North Atlantic Ocean. Much of the island is comprised of limestone corals. The island has gently sloping hills rising up to 1,100 feet high at Mount Hillaby. Barbados is occasionally affected by tropical storms and hurricanes, with the main hurricane belt to the north. Rainfall Barbados has a wet and dry season. The wet season runs from July through November and correlates with the Atlantic hurricane season which officially is from June 1 through November 30. During this time period, rainfall amounts average between five to six and a half inches of rain per month. Rainfall can be considerably heavier if a tropical cyclone affects the island. The dry season starts in December and continues into June. The driest locations are near the coast with about 50″ of annual rainfall.
