Whats the Weather Like in Tropical Costa Rica?
Costa Rica is a tropical country and like most countries in the tropics has two seasons – a wet and a dry season. The dry season is from December to April and the rainy season is from May to November. Because Costa Rica is so diverse and has micro climates, this isn’t always exactly correct. In the Northern Lowlands, for example, where the Arenal Volcano is situated, the rainy season is from December to March and the dry season is from April to November. Costa Rica weather is as diverse as the country, which is close to the equator and thus has no winter. Because of this, the length of the day is the same all year round – the sun rises around 5am and sets at 6pm with around 12 hours of sunshine each day.
