Whats the typical cost for vet care on Okinawa? Do you have recommendations for a good veterinary clinic?
We have found veterinary care to be less expensive here than it is in the states. The base veterinarian may be slightly more affordable than vet care off-base, but quality of care should always be kept in mind. Off-base, it is illegal for anyone but a veterinarian to give vaccinations. We know some great English-speaking veterinarians — ask us for directions! The cost of care will depend on your veterinarian. It is a good idea to call around and ask; most veterinarians are happy to give an estimate.
