Whats the treatment for non-small cell lung cancer?
Surgery is the primary treatment for all non–small cell lung cancers. Surgical options include removal of only a small part of the lung (wedge resection), removal of one lobe of the lung (lobectomy), or removal of the entire lung (pneumonectomy). Radiation therapy and chemotherapy (the use of strong medications) may be combined with surgery to help prevent cancer from returning. About one-third of such patients could be cured by surgery.
