Whats the total cost of an HCP degree?
At $1200 per unit (2005-2006 rates), a 45-unit HCP degree would cost about $54,000 in tuition. Up to 18 units of $1000/unit NDO work can be counted though so you could potentially spend as little as $50,000. Note that if you haven’t taken the equivalent of any of the MSCS breadth courses you may need to take additional courses beyond the 45 units. For textbooks and course readers, the Graduate Admissions site provides a very rough estimate targeted toward full-time grad students. Most full-time students spend around $1600 a year and take two years so this would be around $3000 total. Not all courses have textbooks, and many textbooks can be bought used and/or resold, so this is more of an upper bound; many students are probably more in the $1000-$1500 range.
