A planning committee chaired by Malinda Orlin, Vice President for Academic Affairs, has been meeting since September 2002 to define the functional program for the building. The planning group with the student representatives and representatives from the Student Affairs Offices of all the schools have developed the Vision Statement, this FAQs and the survey “What Facilities and Services Should be in the University Student Center?” The University will use the committee’s report, including results of the student survey, as the basis of its contract to design and construct the facility. To accomplish this UMB is relocating all the programs/services presently in the Baltimore Student Union.
