What’s the talk about losing my “existing” TV signal?

The government has mandated that in February 2009, all TV stations in the country must give up their analog channel and solely broadcast their digital signal. If you do not own a television set that receives digital signals, you will need to purchase a separate digital-to-analog converter box (similar to an existing cable or satellite receiver box) in order to watch TV after the changeover date. Starting January 1, 2008, each household in America can request up to two coupons from the government to use toward the purchase of certain converters. Each coupon is worth $40. Coupons will expire 90 days after they are issued. Click here for details about the DTV Converter Coupon Program: http://www.dtv.
