Whats the story with Access compatibility?

0

Databases originally created in earlier versions of Access will open in Compatibility Mode, and will by default continue to be saved in their original format. If you purposefully convert your database to the Access 2007 format (using Save As) or create a new database and save it in the new Access 2007 format, it cannot be opened with previous Access versions — i.e., there is no Compatibility Pack as there is for earlier versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint.. You can later create a compatible version of an Access 2007 database (ie downshift) with Save As and saving in Access 2000 or Access 2002-2003 format, but you run the risk of losing features you have developed in your database that are not supported in the previous version.
