Whats the status of nuclear plans in the Carolinas?
Customer growth and electricity demand are increasing in our Carolinas service area as well. In February 2008, the company filed a combined operating license (COL) application with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for two possible new reactors at the existing Harris Nuclear Plant site near New Hill, N.C. The company has not announced a decision to build but rather has taken the steps necessary to keep the option open for the future.
