Inside the W3C’s Web Accessibility Initiative is the Protocols and Formats Working Group (PFWG). This group has largely been focusing on what they call the Dynamic Web Content Accessibility Work roadmap, which is both an effort to define the basic roles and properties needed for ARIA. The PF aims to have finalized working drafts by mid-October, in time for the next W3C plenary.
