Whats the standard sky diving altitude and how much does it usually cost for a Tandem jump?

At a recent airshow, the skydivers jumped off from an altitude of 12,500 feet. I would think that a normal skydive will be a bit lower, maybe around 10,000 feet or so. I would imagine that a skydive is very expensive. Jerry C.
