Whats the simplest way to learn Basque?
Ni naiz euskaldun. speaking French Spanish and English won’t help you in Donostia there is many places to speak in Batua-Euskaraz (the dialect I suggest you learn) There are many signs through-out the Basque Country and Navarra and the 3 French Regions, how ever in France the people that can speak Basaque oftern don’t speak Batua-Euskaraz but a local dialect, inless like me you’ve been speaking the language for 17 years you won’t understand them. The question though should be, if you’re not moving here then. why would you pay a lot of money – I don’t think they will be free (Here in Navarra you can have Free Batua-Esukaraz lessons if you’re over 25 and live here) I use this language everyday, my college work is in Basque also. But I’ve never been able to use it outside of my region.
