Whats the salary of a professional photographer?
I know this probably doesn’t help you much. But it varies hugely, there are just so many ways people can make money doing photography. These numbers are just made up to show you the wide range of possibilities. I could call myself a professional photographer and only manage to get hired to do 2 weddings a year, making say only 5000 for the year. I could also be a paparazzi and take 1 good photo of a celebrity doing something bad, and sell it to a magazine for $250,000. I could also be a staff photographer for a small town newspaper and get paid $25,000 a year, but I probably goto work everyday and take photos. This list could go on and on. So you probably need to narrow your paper to a more specific type of photographer or at least pic a few types and then research those specifically. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.
The salary for a professional photographer can be found here: http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Job=… This is a national salary range. The range varies a lot by location. Like the others said it’s a huge range. It depends on: who you work for (ex. weddings vs. small family shoots) where you work (ex. I want to be a photographer in Africa) how you sell (ex. postcards, t-shirt vs. selling pics taken directly (and only) to one family) You’ll need to be specific. I actually want to be a wildlife conservationist/ photographer (take pictures and sell them in various forms in order to raise money for the animals) or I want to do the same thing but, with pets as a dog rescue sort of thing (or maybe I’ll do both).
