Whats the relation between Lightstreamer and TIBCO Rendezvous / TIBCO Enterprise Message Service?
TIBCO Rendezvous (RV) is a one of the most mature and robust Message Oriented Middleware on the market. It sends, distributes and receives messages and is used within many finance-industry architectures to distribute real-time market data. TIBCO Enterprise Message Service (EMS) is the foundation of TIBCO’s event-driven SOA and implements the specification of Java Message Service (JMS). Lightstreamer fundamentally adds two macro functionalities to enhance RV and EMS: • Lightstreamer adapts RV’s and EMS’ messaging paradigm for use with the Internet connectivity, taking into consideration the profile of end-users too. Lightstreamer is able to receive messages (containing quotes) from RV and EMS and distribute them to individual end-users, whilst applying filtering algorithms that ensure a pre-assigned maximum bandwidth is never exceeded.
