Currently, there is no ideal amount or per capita. But we can safely say that the budget allocated should enable members of the structure in question to adequately fulfil the responsibilities entrusted to them under the Education Act. It should also make it possible for parents who wish to sit on any of the committees and who are duly elected by their peers to do precisely that. Shouldn’t the amounts allocated by school boards reflect the expectations they have of members and be an acknowledgement of the value of the role played by these members?
