Whats the purpose of the Onn?
We’re trying to be a constructive part of the movement towards participatory news that is hopefully on its way to replacing the derelict mainstream news media. We’re non-profit (non-revenue, in fact!) and open source. We have this web page that you can use as your homepage for participatory news. Here you read stories posted by others and post stories for others to see. What’s special about that? Our distribution scheme (see here) is really clever. Also, we’re just trying to promote this distribution scheme as a concept for other news pages to adopt. And, our biggest goal is to get lots of different existing news pages to hook up to a single database so that their readers can talk to each other.
