Whats the Proper Invitation Wording for Divorced Parents?
Increasingly, the groom’s parents share in hosting the wedding. Also, it’s not unusual for divorced parents to cohost their children’s weddings. In the case presented in this question, the wedding invitation would include all parents’ names, with the bride’s parents mentioned first. The mothers would be mentioned before their ex-husbands, and because both mothers have resumed using their maiden names, the correct title for each would be “Ms.” not “Mrs.” The title “Doctor” is traditionally written in full.
