Whats the position of UKs cities relative to our EU neighbours?
In most of the advanced EU countries the major regional cities have stronger economies than do those in the UK. It is helpful to link the major cities to the regions in which they are located. These city-regions on the Continent tend to have far higher GDP per capita than most English regions outside inner London and the South East.
