Whats the origin of the peace symbol?

0

– Maddie from Prior Lake The peace symbol is actually a piece of commercial art. It was completed in 1958 by a British artist hired by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. At first, he was doodling with various images of a Christian cross set in a circle, when he came up with the crow’s foot idea. Symbolically, the peace symbol combines the semaphore sign for N and D (Nuclear Disarmament). “N” is the upside down “V,” while “D” is the straight line (one flag straight up, another straight down).
