Whats the order of the Hannibal movies?

The order of release is; The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon, Hannibal Rising. Red Dragon, under the name Manhunter, was released in 1996, but it wasn’t directly related to the following movies. The events in Hannibal Rising take place first, followed by Red Dragon, finally Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal. You don’t have to read the books first. However, Thomas Harris is a great writer and it’s always been my preference to try to read the book before seeing the movie.
