New Zealand has a number of different ‘excellence’ awards. Some are industry-specific (the New Zealand Tourism Awards, for example), some are function-specific (Exporter of the Year, Executive of the Year ). In the ‘quality’ area there’s an entry-level award (the Business Development Quality Award) and there’s the New Zealand Quality Award. Both are ‘Baldrige’ – using exactly the same criteria, and comparable examination processes.
